Lessons

I teach students of all ages and experience levels, from beginners to advanced musicians. Some students pursue MTAC Certificate of Merit® evaluations and performance opportunities, while others study for personal enjoyment, artistic growth, and a lifelong appreciation of music. My goal is to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student can develop strong musicianship, confidence, and creativity while achieving their individual goals.

Lessons are tailored to each student's age, experience level, learning style, and interests. Whether a student is preparing for examinations and recitals or simply learning for enjoyment, instruction is designed to foster steady progress and a positive musical experience.

Lessons are offered in person at my Los Gatos studio, with Zoom lessons available when appropriate.

Both of my sons have had the pleasure of being taught by Nancy on the piano. Piano teaching styles really run the gamut from strict and stern to nurturing and kind. Nancy's style is most definitely in the nurturing and kind side of piano teachings. We are so happy that we've found her because it matches our goal, which is to see the boys enjoy music, in addition to learning the mastery of the piano. I see my sons' happy dispositions after the lessons. Moreover, both boys have gained a lot of confidence from the various piano recitals and reduced their fear of being on stage. We look forward to many more years with Nancy as the kids grow up and learn to love music.

“High praise”: Nancy tutored me on music theory for over a year. I found her to be an excellent, knowledgable teacher who really cared about my success. She’s one of the best teachers I’ve ever had.

I wanted to send you a quick note to express my sincere gratitude for all your hard work and patience with [my kids]. You have been so wonderful the with both of them (answering all their random questions, redirecting them so kindly every time they get distracted, and most of all, never losing your temper ). Not sure how you do it, but you really do have a gift for teaching and working with kids… The kids really love you and we will miss you very much.
